Founded in 1928, Mariotti is now one of the world leaders in the construction of ultra-luxury cruise ships, megayachts and offshore vessels.

Mariotti is by tradition an innovative shipyard, both in terms of technology and design, and with extensive environmental awareness; the shipyard's offer is always characterised by innovative and cutting-edge solutions, a feature that over time has made it unique in the luxury cruise ship and megayacht market.

The added value of Mariotti is found in the balance between the industrial nature of its activities and the spirit of craftsmanship that has been handed down through the generations. The way the shipyard is organised makes it an ideal strategic partner, always able to provide innovative solutions, both in terms of technology and design.

All Mariotti new builds adhere to the highest environmental standards and carry all the strictest certifications: the ships built by the shipyard are safe and have access to the cleanest waters.

The Mariotti Shipyard is located in the industrial area of Riparazioni Navali (Ship Repairs) in the Port of Genoa, close to the heart of the city. Genoa, historically the capital of Mediterranean shipping, is where all the major players in the maritime cluster have their headquarters, from classification bodies and shipping companies to major contractors.
With over 100 direct employees and a workforce of around 1,000 during construction, the shipyard has access to an available area of over 35,000sqm (of which 10,000sqm is covered) in addition to the adjacent five dry docks with dimensions up to 267m long, 40m wide and 11.5m deep.

The entire structure of the Mariotti Shipyard, with transversal skills, is dedicated to fulfilling orders without dispersing resources. The company’s stability means it has access to banking and insurance facilities that secure the financing of new build orders, providing mutual benefits for Shipowners and the Shipyard.

During construction, the Mariotti Shipyard offers the Team representing the Shipowner an independent office in the same port area, thereby facilitating operational agility. The shipyard is within walking distance of the city centre and a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport. From this location it is easy to reach other destinations such as Portofino, Tuscany, the French Riviera, famous ski resorts, Milan and Turin, to name but a few.

HISTORY

More than 90 years in the ultra-luxury shipbuilding industry

Since 1928, Mariotti has been innovating and conquering new markets. The business started out as a repair yard and went on to undertake complex projects and specialise in high-end shipbuilding.

1928 - Founding of the Shipyard

In 1928, Temistocle Mariotti founds his ship repair company in the port of Genoa, which is destined to grow with future generations.

The 1950s - Ship conversion projects

The explosion of trade in the 1950s marks the beginning of one of the shipyard's areas of activity: major ship conversion and reconversion projects. This is a complex segment that has been evolving from the outset due to the rapidly changing needs of shipowners for larger, more modern and efficient fleets.

The 1990s - The cruise ship market

After several decades working in the field of ship repair and conversion, the Shipyard successfully enters the field of Ultra Luxury cruise ship construction. A natural evolution of the experience accumulated over time in a particularly demanding and fast-growing niche.

The 2000s - The megayacht era

Now in its fourth generation and through an ongoing process of research and growth, the Mariotti Shipyard consolidates its presence in the Ultra Luxury cruise ship market and decides to dedicate itself to a sector with great potential – that of megayachts, through the Mariotti Yachts brand.

2010s - The offshore sector

As a means of industrial diversification and seizing the momentum, Mariotti enters the offshore segment with the construction of PSVs and Patrol Boats.

The Mariotti Shipyard in the Ultra Luxury cruise market

The most prestigious high-end cruise operators choose Mariotti to introduce new innovations to the luxury experience on board their ships. As a natural consequence of its own experience and that of its subcontractors, in 1992 Mariotti successfully entered the field of new build ultra-luxury cruise ships.

Today, the Mariotti Shipyard is partner to the most prestigious cruise lines in fleet innovation and in the operational refit of ships, while respecting the needs of the market, the tourist industry and regulatory requirements relating to safety and environmental impact.

High standards of comfort, safety and environmental awareness

Quality and sustainability are essential requirements in every project: respect for the environment and health and safety at work has always characterised the way Mariotti works.
