An ambitious project dedicated to marine science, environmental protection, and the ecological transition.
Arcadia is the operational heart of the MER programme – the largest investment (£340 million) from the PNRR (the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan) for the marine environment – and will be dedicated to the exploration of the deep sea, the study of climate change, and mapping the most fragile and often invisible underwater ecosystems, which are fundamental to the future of our planet.
The €107 million project was awarded to T. Mariotti S.p.A. - Shipyard following the tender process issued by Invitalia on behalf of ISPRA.
